Stress in the Workplace – One Way We Have Found to Ease It

Hectic and stressful is how most days run in our office. Customer care can be rewarding but very stressful. Our coping mechanisms in our small office are Thor and Penny Lane. What is a Thor and a Penny Lane? They are dogs that belong to our staff. Thor belongs to our owner, Jeff Nettles. Penny Lane belongs to Elizabeth. Thor comes to the office occasionally and Penny Lane comes in about twice a week.

Thor is a Cane Corso. Purebred and well-trained. He is gentle to the workers; but must follow commands when outsiders come to the door. Though he is over 100 pounds; he still thinks he is a baby. Thor loves to play and enjoys being petted.

Penny Lane is a mix between Chihuahua, Toy Poodle and Shih Tzu. Penny weighs all of 12 pounds. She is funny, quirky and loves to fetch. Penny is also a little Diva. She likes to stay in bed – a lot – therefore,she has a bed that is brought to the office when she visits. Penny also enjoys being petted by everyone.

These pets are engaging. They bring laughter and camaraderie to our workplace. Laughter eases stress and makes for a better work environment. So, if you hear a bark or a growl in the background; you will now know who it is!
