Watering schedules according to the Georgia Water
Conservation Plan:
Odd-numbered addresses water on Tuesdays, Thursdays,
and Sundays (no hourly limits)
Even-numbered or unnumbered addresses water on
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays (no hourly limits).
No outdoor water use on Fridays.
Optimal Watering Schedules:
Do not water at night unless you are watering in new
sod.
Optimal watering time is from 4:00 am til 7:00 am.
Deep Watering; Georgia clay will only accept .6 gallons
of water per hour, therefore, shorter watering cycles
are more beneficial. On average for sod, water time
is 15-20 minutes/per watering cycle; and mister zones
(depending upon proper drainage) is 10 minutes or less
/per watering cycle.
Save Money and Conserve Water:
Install a rain sensor on your irrigation system. The
sensor saves
water consumption and extends the life of the irrigation
system by
automatically measuring the amount of rain and
preventing the
irrigation system from watering unnecessarily.
House Bill 1277, requires all newly installed Irrigation
systems to
have a rain sensor. |
